Geoff, who came from America to Taiwan, is a well–known English teacher at Aiko’s English School and has been living in Hualien for 17 years.
After teaching for a few years, Geoff used his teaching experience and creativity to establish “Aquarius Publishing” and compiled his own teaching materials and his own teaching style with his books called “The Pyramid Method”.
He has compiled a complete English phonics teaching program through his abundant teaching experience and hard work and has now invented an interesting and exciting new product called “PHONCARDS” phonics playing cards, making learning English fun and easier through this fascinating new game.
The Pyramid Method is based on the way American children learn English and he has adapted the books to the way Non–Native speakers learn and are suitable for students of English of all ages.
The Pyramid Method gives the students the ability to spell words when they hear them and also to be able to read them correctly when they see them in print. They learn to sound out words and not just memorize them.
Recently, in order to make English fun, active and attract more students to enjoy it, he invented a fascinating new game called “PHONCARDS” and has been actively promoting it.
It’s a game where students of English or anyone can play regular card games and learn English at the same time! It consists of two complete standard decks of cards with the vowels (41) and the consonants (63) color coded for easy recognition.
Along with his two books “The Pyramid Method” Books 1 and 2 and the other smaller version of all the rules that fits in your pocket called “Pocket Phonics” and now “PHONCARDS”, anyone can have fun learning English! Kung San Newspaper April 2009
